yes.

actual mark for your sac means nothing, all that matters is ranking for sac.. plus the sacs are only 33% of your score
you could get horrible sac marks and do really well in both exams and still get 40 + :p

Definitely. I have a friend who scored 50 in Chemistry last year with below 90 on a SAC. Mind you, she went to a really good school, but even so, 40+ should easily be possible.

Your exams decide your SS, not your SACs. So for example if you get an A, A+ for your exams and you are averaging an A in SACs, then your SAC mark will scale up to an A+.

Quantum, that is incorrect, it is not your own exam performance which determines your SAC mark, but that of your cohort as a whole. They keep the distribution of SAC marks similar to the exam marks by equating the quartiles of SAC's(ie imagine out of 100 top ranking, 25th, 50th, 75th, and 100th) with the quartiles of the exams.

Anyway, see this and this.

This was for Japanese. The whole exam score was A, which was worth 50%. The GAs for SACs were like C and D or somethign

With languages the median exam score is often B+ or A, so it is much easier to attain a low-mid range study score with an A.

SACs don't matter. I had rank 1 and got 44 raw - exam performance is the most important.
Raw Scores:
Psychology 50 | Mathematical Methods 49 | Further Mathematics 49 | Accounting 49 | Chemistry 44 | English 43

17/20 is an awesome mark don't be discouraged. Especially since it's your fist SAC, plenty of time to improve and get that 20/20 :)

Didn't read the start. 17/20 - that indicates that you will do really well in Chem if you keep up the work.
Raw Scores:
Psychology 50 | Mathematical Methods 49 | Further Mathematics 49 | Accounting 49 | Chemistry 44 | English 43
