volumetric analysis question

I'm really confused in the burette part. Say you rinse the burette with distilled water then add the standard solution. The result of course would be a higher titred volume, but is it because of the concentration or because of the number of mole being reacted?

thanks

Diluting the solution in the burette (because it has been rinsed with water) would mean that titre will be higher because the concentration of this solution is lower (which means less moles).
