dw, I am going to.  i just want some opinions.  shes refusing to mark any of my own work.  like if i write an essay on a past vcaa exam q, she won't mark it, and is like, that my tutors job.

she doesn't believe work should be marked by more than one person (WTF?) as she finds it offensive.
tbh, she just hates me because she keeps stuffing up in class and cant accept that she is wrong.

also, does a school have an obligation to ensure english papers are cross marked?
I feel she is going to target me on sacs...

She wouldn't be the only teacher to feel that way actually.  There are teachers at my school who feel the same way.

yeah EZ, it is typical of teachers not wanting to be found out for lack of sufficient knowledge in their subject i guess.
teachers should be forced to sit exams.  if they're any good, they should not have any problems doing it.

Not sure if it's necessarily applicable to your situation, but said teachers whom I mentioned are definitely competent.  It just seems a matter of "teacher code" or something.

^imo that is silly.  teachers are going to make mistakes, as are students.  the ability to take on board constructive criticism is one of the best traits a person can have.  just accept you made a mistake, and move on.

Absolutely, you can't really expect the teachers to be be perfect at all, you just hope they know what they're teaching :D

yeah, everyone makes mistakes....it's no big deal.  (unless of course the teacher carries on, like in my case.  then she's never going to admit she's wrong)

my bio teacher is awesome.  she always checks her diagrams to see if there right.
and she drew something wrong on the board the other day, and she emailed us all to let us know she made a mistake and was going to clarify it next lesson.  :)

I loathe teachers like that, they need to make the most of the advice they give to us (learn from mistakes).
Just because they have power in the classroom doesn't make them perfect

englang actually.  my biggest concern is that she is the only englang teacher at the school.  does that that mean that sacs won't be cross marked?

i thought that they had to be in subjects like english.
i know my bio sacs are being cross marked.

Hmm... an english teacher told me it's not recommended for them to privately tutor students.

Weird.

teachers should get paid higher so as to attract higher quality teachers to schools.
kinda like people believe we should pay politicians more so instead of them wanting to be ceo's, then it might be worth their while to to be politicians and run the country properly.

Not necessarily.  When I did Chinese, my teacher was the only one qualified to teach it at my school.  She still had our SACs cross-marked at two different schools.
