How do you tell them about a crap result?

Crap, as in what they will not be happy with.

1.  Convert the percentage into a fraction - that usually "sounds" better.  After all, what sounds better: or 53%?
2.  Put your report (mark, etc) on a table where your parents will find out.  Go out for a few hours call your sibling to see if it's safe to return home. That usually doesn't work.

I've done it and I'm still alive, so I guess Twenty10 could give it a go.  Hopefully your parents aren't mathematicians or something...

Nah, even though the fraction idea is gud, my parents are only looking for a %. :( They will then ask me so whats that in a % or just go off to a calculator or in their head...... -.-.

Second one doesnt work espesh when your sibling wants to bag you about shit results...lol

BTW: i havnt got overly shit results yet in year 12, and have had nothing to be nervous about in front of my parents(So far (yn)).  Im just asking coz my parents will get dissapointed if i get shit results and i wont know how to tell them..:)

But in all seriousness here, you should promise them to work harder next time because it's still early in the year and most of your assessments are yet to come.  Don't let one little obstacle hinder you from reaching your goal.  Like I said before somewhere, be the postage stamp on the letter.  Why?  Because the postage stamp stays with the letter until it reaches its destination in rain, hail or shine.

EDIT:  After reading your edit:  if you have given your very best and I mean your absolute best, then you have nothing to regret because you've given it your best shot.  Even if you rewind time, there's nothing you can change, is there?

Sometimes i wish parents can understand their children more, scores are not everything.

But if you did your best and there was nothing more you can do than what you did, then whatever you get you get. Parents just have to learn to accept that.

I guess you can tell them that you'll learn the mistakes you did and hopefully you won't repeat it.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.

If you haven't got any 'shit' results to worry about, then I think this thread has an entirely wrong attitude. You should try to put the fear of failure out of your mind, and you will do better.

In VCE they are though??

I meant its not the be all end all. Your not always going to get the marks you want or the marks that others want.
i see VCE is how well you do compared to other students. So regardless of my score, it pretty much depends on my rank.
But i'm not saying not to care about scores all together, im just saying do your best and hopefully you'll get the mark you deserve.

Tell your parents to back the f*ck down if they start running their mouths. If you have the motivation to do well and you try your best they have nothing to complain about.
