Thoughts on best way to study for SACs?

Apparently, the best way to study for tests/SAC's is to only do some light revision the night before, so that you won't tire out your brain???

What is your opinion?

What do you do?

What is most effective?

I personally like doing as much of the chapter of maths + revision the night before, but too scared to try something new haha

I try to start revision two days beforehand. I try to finish all my set work, and then read through the notes.

Usually I end up finishing set work the night before, and read my notes then as well.

I like cramming on the last night because then it leaves a fresher memory for the test/SAC (:

Fresher memory? I thought it is supposed to make your brain tired?

I have a SAC tomorrow, and I'm not studying tonight. I find it too stressful, and it suppresses my own thoughts. I want my ideas to solidify.

Maybe it does, but I can't really tell... coffee is always helpful if you're tired in the morning though (: When I studied for tests a few days ahead I found upon re-reading that I had forgotten some bits, or I just simply forgot bits during the test. But maybe that's just me. =|

Well, I usually start heavy study the week before but try to give myself a break the night before, by just doing some light revision or looking over relevant practise SAC's.

If I feel I don't know the material well enough, I won't cram, but I do a reasonable amount of study,

Similar approach to exams?

Do practice questions, revise older stuff you may have forgotten.

And don't study on the day, makes it more stressful.

Yeah, do heaps of practice questions, but make sure you ease off in the day before, you don't want to burn out at the last minute
Remember, remember the 5th of November

2011 - Eng - Phys - Chem - Spesh - Latin - UMAT

I dont believe you can burn out after SAC revision, you'd have to make it pretty intense.

I read my notes thoroughly an hour or so a night starting 3 nights before the SAC and when ive read them I might do some practice questions without notes/textbook then go back over and correct them, fix up any flaws. Thats the extent of my SAC revision. It leaves me peaking at come SAC time.

You definitely can burn out, if you push yourself to remember everything the night before (or ten minutes before in some of my friends' cases)
But I like your way, not too intensive :)

Be prepared for the SAC as early as possible.

This.

Otherwise i find everything becomes much more stressful. Too bad i haven't been prepared enough in advance for mine so far- must start soon. Cramming is the absolute worst especially for subjects like busman and legal.
