What does written canto look like? I've only heard people speak it lol and I don't understand a word of it.
What is VCE Chinese? Mandarin? Can you choose between cantonese and mandarin?

I think canto looks the same as mandarin just pronounced different...

Mandarin is the official Chinese language, this is why Cantonese tend to start studying chinese now =)

Maybe you could try using microsoft Pinyin New Experience Input Style, and try typing the pinyin of a long phrase altogether, normally the correct words wil automatically pop-up. But still, its quite hard at the beginning until you eventually get used to it :)

Actually i think Canto uses traditional characters. Or TT may be right, just pronunciation is different, because canto is more spoken, hence why only mandarin can be studied.

Mind you, cantonese can also be studied, if you have seen the Newspaper in HongKong, you will see the difference between the two
