The ‘better story’ is more important than the ‘truth’. Do you agree?

 There are always two sides to every story and both are of equal importance. In Life of Pi, Pi presents two versions of what happened on his sea voyage. One is constructed in such gripping detail and is so entertaining that we find ourselves pulling along with it. The other is described in such a short and vile way that makes it seem more likely to be the truthful one. Martel is not necessarily suggesting that we need to take a stance on which is more important but is conveying that there should be a balance between cynicism and blind faith upon deciding.
