magnetism of metals

is lithium magnetic? we had to find out whether specific metals were magnetic, and i couldn't find whether pure lithium was magnetic?
is it correct that pure copper is not magnetic, pure iron is magnetic, pure lead is not magnetic, pure zinc is not magnetic and pure nickel is magnetic?
what about the magnetism of sodium, lithium [obviously], calcium, aluminium and magnesium?
and how is magnetism measured? is there a specific scale? and how does a metal become magnetic? what properties does a metal have that make it magnetic? and does the lattice sructure of each metal influence the magnetism?

Wikipedia tells me that it is paramagnetic hence, not ferromagnetic, which is what you mean when you say 'magnetic'. You can look up the others on wikipedia.

Magnetism is a complex property, not related to chemistry at all (but rather quantum mechanical properties). It can roughly be measured in terms of the relative permeability. The properties that make a metal magnetic or not related to the spins of the electrons, not required knowledge for chemistry (unless very weird changes have been made since I was in VCE).
