Omg my SAC didn't have any of this, my methods SAC was so bloody hard. Didn't even go into power functions that much, it revolved over really odd and badly worded questions :(

And I was told at a TSFX lecture that the VCAA use "from the #-axis" rather than parallel to the #-axis, but like the above people said, they are both right.

Yeah, they're definitely both right, it's just that indeed VCAA does use 'from' more often.
But they may throw a trick in! :P

Knowing the VCAA, they would probably throw in a trick :P

VCAA exams I found to be the most straight forward. They seemed much easier than some of the ones I attempted.

Nah, I was just wondering because in the Maths Quest, it only uses "from the #-axis" and our teacher told us thats all they would use for questions in the exam

Gee why didnt we use essentials :/

We use Maths Quest too but our teacher still decided to throw in a trick :(

I had that question on my SAC and I stuffed up the dilation stuff. But I did well overall. But it was only the first SAC so I will get better as well.

'From the x-axis' means vertical dilation, yes?
So this is equivalent to 'parallel to the y-axis' because the y-axis runs vertically

Both are used but 'from' is definitely used more

If you are talking about dilations, then "from the x-axis" can also be said as "parallel to the y-axis".
