Is my teacher correct in saying this?

Well our first SAC for methods is coming up first week of term 2.

My teacher said dont worry if you do bad in it because it only counts towards 10% of your unit 3 mark which is in turn only 33% of your final score. Thus, even if you get 100% the test only counts towards 3.3% of your study score. So dont worry too much about it

Is he correct in saying this? I thought it was all about ranking :/

In my opinion, everything counts, but yes it doesn't count for much
However, if you are going for 45+, then it is important to scrounge everything you can, as it sure is competitive at the top! :)
Remember, remember the 5th of November

2010 - MM CAS (47) - Cisco 1+2 (pass :P)
2011 - Eng - Phys - Chem - Spesh - Latin - UMAT
ATAR - 99.00+ plz... :)

Feel free to PM me for anything :D

Counts if you want to aim for high 40s. Every mark counts there.
Raw Scores:
Psychology 50 | Mathematical Methods 49 | Further Mathematics 49 | Accounting 49 | Chemistry 44 | English 43
ATAR: 99.75

If you are in the top bracket (top 10?) of your cohort, then you essentially have an equal chance of 45+ to rank 1 and it all depends on exam performance. For example rank 1 for Methods in our school last year got 41 or 42 as a study score.

Never said that. xD I meant that exam performance is all that matters when you're in the top bracket, ignore the first sentence.
