an interesting fact also,
if i got a 40 for every subject that I'm doing

               Aggregate Score (Scaled)         ENTER Score

2008                        184                                  97.65

2009                        183                                  97.85

So although spesh was the only one that went down, you would've still got a higher ENTER?
2010: Business Management [47]
2011: English [44]   |   Chemistry [45]  |   Methods [44]   |   Specialist [42]   |   MUEP Chemistry [5.0]   |   ATAR: 99.60
UMAT: 69 | 56 | 82 | = [69 / 98th Percentile]
2012: MBBS I @ Monash

As most of the scaling is decreasing, and many people in the upper ATAR/ENTER range rely upon scaling, the corresponding aggregates have decreased. So even though you have lost Spesh scaling, others have lost more.

Why did spesh go down though, out of curiosity? My teacher put it down to too many weak maths students being attracted by its scaling, then...because they were generally poor students in general, VCAA correlated that and dragged spesh scaling down. It is after all, also based on how students perform in their OTHER areas.

Yes I thought that too...like all those international students who are like 19/20 and have actually done harder maths in their own countries. I think it could be a mixture of both.
