the gat has no effect what so ever unless you apply for a derived score or there is a huge difference between your average sac mark and exam mark.

apart from that its all scare tactics used by teachers to try and make you try in the GAT.

Just read that official handout thing from VCAA titled 'exam navigator' or something.

Actually, I had a friend who got 48 as a derived score.  True story.

yeah our school had a 50 derived for methods last year (she did sit the exam but she didn't have a bound reference as it was unfairly taken off her, if it makes a difference)

How do they figure the derived score? I personally don't believe anybody in my school could get a derived of 40+. Based on the cohort and all, if that affects it anyhow.
