Structures is soooooo easy. I can usually get through that section in less than 10 minutes.

I love it when there is 1 graph comparing a few materials and you get like 3 or 4 questions asking which is the stiffest, most bittle, toughest etc. easy, easy marks. Just don't want to stuff it up!

lol structures and materials is my weakest section >.<. The last 2 practice exams I've done, I got full marks for Motion and Electricity combined, but lost marks on structures and materials

structures is easily the worst. so boring and repetitive and then the occasional torque question which is tricky.

But literally every q is the same. looking at a stress strain graph and bloody sayign this is more brittle than that and finding youngs modulus and other boring calculations using the same bloody two formulas. so bad.

I don't find the torque questions tricky, it's the ones where you have all these beams and you have to figure out which one is under tension, and which is under compression.

I agree! Those ones are really difficult. Even when substituting a rope in to test for compression or tension it is still very difficult.

But yes, in all it is very repetetive!

We had no choice...

At the end of the year I'll probably go back and have a look at the other detailed studies to learn about them. Einsteins relativety looks pretty interesting!

those ones where you have to determine as to whether they are under compression or tension i just try to visualise. and also a point to remeber is that, say they are using triangles or whatever for a bridge. if two beams are under tension, the other has to be in compression.

I dunno. aside from that i just imagine the bridge was made out of toothpicks and if i were to pull on the bridge/structure at the centre of gravity, which stick would break first. then this stick or line or whatever is in compression.
