That's what I think too. I don't know why it's so standard - 90% of textbooks give that solution.

Standard? Jeez... i'd like to see that on  multi-choice exam 2, that would be hell fun.

in vcaa exams, when i did them and i saw int cosecx dx as part of an integral i never did working to show the integral, i just assumed the integral was a result, never got any marks taken off

lol shit i just reread it myself and it didnt make sense, argh im bad at english dono how to express myself, i just mean like i never showed int cosecx dx = ln(|sinx|/(cosx+1)|), if it were part of another integral, i'd just write the result for the integral of cosecx, same goes for sec

reli? wow, i thought the only assumed integrals were the one on the formuls sheet, thought for everything else, you had to show full working

Ahh, right, that's what you mean. TT meant when he encounters or things like that, he does not evaluate it and just leaves it in the integral form as .
