Who has actually done really well in studio arts and got a scaled score over 35+ (raw 40)..

How much effort did you put in and what were your marks? It seems impossible to get a good score when the scaling goes down by 5...

My friend got a 37 for studio. I'm pretty sure she worked really hard on her folio which was a good thing because her exam score was lower. I suppose to get much higher you have to do very well in both the exam and your folios. This is probably very banal advice though...

i have a friend who got in the 30s and who aced the exam with an A+, but she told me her low mark was due to not working consistently on her folio throughout the whole semester. she said she left it till last minute and rushed it. so i guess put in a lot of effort into your folio, and def. do not leave it til last minute because examiners can tell when u've rushed things.

Yeah, last year in year 11 I didn't have a folio I just handed all my work in a plastic pocket... pretty stupid.. but this year i've put heaps of effort into my folio and its starting to look really good.

Does anyone here do studio arts or did do it, it would be good to see photos of your folio or work.

That might happen with the other subjects. (essays ect).

But 'Stealing' studio art work isn't possible..people aren't able to steal work because statements, design processes, research and development all need to take place before the designs can be assessed.

An idea 'stolen' is not going to benefit the student in anyway as the folio goes over a year long period?

BTW, do you even do Studio Arts?

jsimmo: It is unfair to ask people currently doing Studio Arts to show the work they're going to hand in. I'd advise that you only request to see examples of finished students' work. Whether or not Electioneering is doing Studio Arts is irrelevant, the comment is still valid.

Of course I do Studio Arts. Why would I waste my time posting in this thread if I wasn't?

I know perfectly well that 'art' in general is a dedicated thought process and that producing a final piece of art takes a long time, especially when developing and refining ideas, but unfortunately plagiarism does exist. There are many people who don't take Studio Arts seriously and waste their periods listening to music and chatting with their friends. These people don't work consistently throughout the year and probably don't give a damn. These people may be gifted illustrators, but when it comes to creative ingenuity they are most likely to hand in folios of nothing but random fan art of their favorite anime and will probably rip ideas for their final pieces from some site like DeviantArt.

yeah she did like 50 variation/experiments for each of her pieces
like she would have one photo and edit it differently so she'd end up with soooo many variations
don't think it was 1000 pages, maybe she didn't completely fill each folio

Because of the hard scale down in SA, You'd be looking at like high A to A+, to get 40 raw, in my opinion. Remember that the folios are worth 33% percent of the study score EACH, so it is definitely worth putting time into them and producing a good standard of work.

I have a friend who did 3/4 SA last year, and he got 37 and got B+ to A on his folios, but did very well on the exam.

Hope this helps you!

"he did very well"
so he got A+ for the exam?

i kinda don't like how everything is based on the folio for unit 3 and 4 ....
