Other than Med at Monash, which courses are the most competitive (i.e. also requiring high ATAR scores) to get into?

Yepp, dentistry is a bitch!

Clearly IN for LaTrobe Uni was 99.40 last year!  Bloody insane...

Law at Monash was 99.35 haha, so pretty much the same.

Physiotherapy is another one.  A lot of health science related courses are in high demand, along with law, commerce, engineering at the Go8.

Bachelor of Science (Mathematics & Statistics) - Discrete Mathematics & Operations Research

Law is one of the most competitive.
I remember I went to this Monash Law session during that day after you get your ENTER, because I never thought I would get my score.
And I was interested in perhaps changing my first pref to Arts/Law rather than Med Comm to the JD.
And the room was filled with people who obviously hadn't gotten the scores they had wanted, and they were all asking questions about alternate pathways and whether they still had a chance.
1.  I felt like a bit of a bitch.
2.  I realised just how competitive that course was when people were pretty much crying!

Anyway, Journalism is also becoming very competitive.
RMIT Journo is 98.something now.  Who needs that to be a journalist?
My course was a 97.60 2009 intake but went down because you can't defer and do as many subjects in it anymore (final intake 2010).
2009 ENTER: 99.05
2014: BSci Hons (Microbiology/Immunology) at UoM
2015+: PhD (Immunology) at UoM

Not really demand only... its more demand as compared to the amount of places. Thats why monash med is so competitive you got a 1000 people im guessing vying for what 200 places.

Demands/Places is the reason why chem at latrobe is like 60 and arts is 80 (among others anyway...)

Yeah, arts at Melbourne is actually the most popular course, but it isn't that competitive because there are a lot of places

2010- Economics (50) English (44) Literature (38) Introductory Microeconomcis (86) Introductory Macroeconomics (75)
ATAR:98.95

Actually more like 2000 hopefuls for Monash Med, for about 300 places.

Oh yeah but i mean the general idea i was trying to get at stays the same

They keep the no° places artificially low for a number of reasons anyway so that explains that

haha it's not that hard to get into a selective high school, especially in comparison to med.
and unsw med had 3500+ applicants for 200-300 places where the median ATAR was 99.60 - ridiculously competitive medicine is.
