Strong Cohorts and their impact on your study score

I was wondering if there are any Melb High, MacRob or any other past students really that could help me with this.
As your sacs are most likely harder at selective/ posh school than average schools, there may not be a high average in results, but in the exam generally performed really well, that your results of your sacs got lifted by a lot? If so, would you be able to give me some sort of idea as to how much?
Thanks!!

At MGS, a guy who got a B in an English SAC (where the average was A+) got enough scaling to get 50.  Same thing happened with a guy in Lit who was ranked about in the middle of the cohort.

Hi, As the mother of a 17yo girl, attending a public school, and having read quite a few of these forums lately, am i now lead to believe, that because:

1. Because she attends a public school, and not one of the best
2. She is an  average student    (English Language sacs 1 and 2 80 and 73 respectively)
3. Most of the people in her classes are below her in sac scores, some well below,
4. There are a small number of students achieving really good scores, (I guess they also will be dragged down)

That really she has no hope of achieving a decent enter score.  That even her modest sac scores will be dragged down by other
students?

How depressing..... :-[ :-[ :-[

No, this is not completely correct. SAC marks are used to rank your daughters ability in comparison to the cohort at her school, thus her ranking is meant to reflect her own abilities. SAC marks are not dragged down just because you go to a "weak school" but is meant to moderate the effectiveness of a system that would otherwise show large fluctuations in what is determined to be a certain grade. The whole point of the ranking system is to ensure that your daughter receives an appropriate grade for her SAC graded assessment regardless of what school she goes to.
