I don't know. I'm pretty sure I am wrong, but cant washing machines go higher than 40 degrees, which is why I chose the highest temp one.

Stupid question, requiring knowledge of the intricacies of a how a fucking washing operates...

I dont think my washing machine heats the water, it gets the water from the water heater thing which supplies hot water to the house(which would normally be like 100c but we have a valve or something that sets the max temp to like 30-40 so you dont burn yourself when you have a shower with only hot or turn on the tap only on hot), then it adds like cold water untill the temperature is right

Yeah i agree fucking stupid to assume we now the details and ins and outs of the fine science of washing machine engineering

LOL, like I said, I don't know washing machines, but I swear i've stuck my hand in once and the water was boiling.  Other times I've seen it so hot that it steams.

37 - 42 degrees isn't hot at all.  We used this temp water in chem one day and it felt luke warm at best.

The other reason I chose the hottest one was because some bacteria live in hot springs where the water is boiling.
But yeah, probs gonna lose a mark for this.

i selected the one with the highest temperature because i thought that at least the enzymes wouldn't be degraded by those industrial washing machines, which I *thought* hit really high temperatures for the sake of hygiene. it also had the largest pH range, which i thought was useful because some soaps can be acidic or alkaline. overthinking the question probably lost me marks.... but urgh, what a stupid question. i'm not an engineer, i wouldn't have a clue what temperature my washing machine goes up to <_<

i think i picked the 30-40 degrees one... but its so stupid, because what about cold water washes? i hated that question...

I totally freaked out after the exam, because my friends started going on about writing about photosynthesis for the slug question... but i wrote about cellular respiration. And it seemed that i was the only person who did... lol.

I'm glad im not the only person who found it long... i almost ran out of time, which really sucked.

I almost thought that the William's cat question was a trick question, but i picked that one anyway... it just seemed too simple!
