It might be easier if you told me what answer you put down.

perception doesn't involve a cognitive process and selection only occurs in sensation i thought. And i thought start of visual perception was receptors receiving info from envirnoment.

It seems that VCAA has decided to distinguish between sensation and perception is this exam :S

Why doesn't perception involve a cognitive process - after all, past experiences can influence the perception of the same object (sensation).

And no, that's the start of visual sensation.

Its really gay that theres Visual Perception and then theres visual perception.

Thankfully, after gauging VN opinion, I think I chose the right ones. They left me a bit stunned though.

i thought visual perception was - selection, orgainsation and interpretation (learnt  from textbook)

and sensation was just - reception, transduction and transmission

it seems visual sensation includes selection as well...the way it is written in the exams..

i would only say selection could be sensation because rods/cones respond to differing wavelengths of light but the main selection process is cognitive and is done by feature detector cells in the brain...

ok, i've finished with the Short Answers - which reminded my on why I absolutely hated Visual Perception (if there are errors, it's because I hate that area).

Anyway, they are on the front page.

Oh it did too... thanks for catching that one out.

19 and 20: that annoys me that they decide to distinguish between perception and sensation in the visual perception system. That was the case in the OLD study design, but the current one only refers to 'psychological' and 'physical' processes; both of which are part of the 'visual perception system' as a whole! (A change which was actually made to keep up-to-date with current scientific theory on visual perception, mind you!)

VCAA suck.

VCE has already been scientifically on the back foot.

my teacher told me Q10. was B....
maybe she said A could have been accepted but in wasnt in any books or study guides so they wouldnt have put it there as the answer
how is 10 B, split brain patients can make verbal responses? unless objects are flashed in left visual field but this wasn't a q on sperry..
