"delta sleep is when sleep walking and sleep talking is most likely to occur."

"Sleep-talking usually occurs during transitory arousals from NREM sleep,Further it can also occur during REM sleep"

http://www.sleepdex.org/somniloquy.htm

"While it is possible to talk in REM sleep, it isn't as likely as at other stages."

Oh here it is. 2009 Multiple Choice question 43
Sleep  talking occurs in
A. REM sleep only
B. Stage 1 sleep only
C. Stages 3 and 4 sleep only (this refers to sleep walking)
D. Both REM and NREM sleep

Examiner's commends: 43 students chop option C, this suggests that students are confusing sleep talking, which may occur in any stage of sleep, with sleep walking, which occurs only in stages 3 and 4 of NREM sleep.

Jinny1- I did any stage because on past vcaa exam there was a question like this, and the answer was any stage, it's only sleep walking that occurs in a specific stage? I should check it again, just cbf finding the paper ^^

Sleepwalking occurs in both REM and NREM, however it it more likely to occur in stage 3/4 NREM

maybe the asssor will read my crossed out answer and think it was a sudden jerk or spasm that caused a single line of blue line going across it?

i wrote d but is it still possible you are right because on that question, it does not say "likely"
He meant likely to the question in this year's exam, the MC was from last year's exam.
I think they wanted specific answer so don't stress about it Jinny

are we actually permitted to question VCAA's final answer?
Like can we call them up and be like Sooooooo that wasn't on the study guide ?
I would seriously consider doing that. We couldn't have been expected to know that.

dare you to email or call them up tomorrow and lodge a complaint or someting

The people that write the exam are different from the people that assess it. Maybe the assessors will see the problems with the questions as well...

It said which stage was likely, not most likely ;)

NREM, REM are both likely.
