It says its not in the study design but may help understanding of other topics. Does it really? or should I just skip it?

I'd say do it :)
It's similar to finding the angles between two lines (in Linear Relations), but it uses the gradients of tangents
Nothing too challenging, give it a shot!

u never know, a question could involve this as a technique not necessarily focused on this type of question.

i had one of these questions as a sac, so yea definitely learn it.
