Don't bother the videos are so confusing.
They're like
GO TO YOUR STUDY PLAN.
HOW?  fjkkskssjd.

Yes you do get to choose.
However, if you want to choose a class you're not enrolled in, you have to wait until everything is overfull and full and then you just can't do it anymore.
Good system.
LOL What do you mean you need to wait til they're full; that's annoying...

Okay, I revise last night's opinion, this timetable is horrible. Why did uni abandon alloc8 for some web 2.0 interface (alloc8 was also horrible but at least i understood it).

I'm also missing a subject from the popup portal enrolment thing, but it appears on my academic record, so check that before you get too concerned. My subjects were meant to open for editing today but they're still locked, so I'm just going to try again tomorrow.

@Mavis, I also have core subjects (biomed) so it could be that i guess, but I doubt it since a lot of other people are having trouble as well.

If you want to move into overfull tutorials, your student center will do it for you as long as you have a reason (work/can't get home/etc.)

The timetabling system doesn't open til 10am today- that's why all your subjects are still locked :)

I have a subject missing from my enrolment record too (from semester one) but it appears on my pending results statement so I assume it's just a glitch due to the upgrading of the portal.

Which part of the video do you find confusing?
I think it's pretty manageable. If you 'generate a clash free timetable' first, it's basically identical to alloc8 except that if you get in early, it increases your chances of getting into the classes you want :)

Watched it again and I think I'm okay with it now. Just wasn't sure why the subjects didn't show up side by side.

So everyone else has 'Registration closed' next to their subjects right?
