I fail to see how Monash, with far more students in far more subjects manages to timetable its classes without any issue whatsoever and the GREAT UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE can't even make 10% of its students happy. I am yet to hear a SINGLE complaint about the monash timetabling system. How hard is it to get right? The software is readily available, it clearly works on a larger scale.

UoM administration is just dumb.

I got the loading message for about five years, but after that I made my timetable, and it's pretty perfect. I'd already looked up the times that each of my subjects have lectures/labs/tutes, so I knew exactly what times to choose at 10(.15) this morning :D

Yup, despite my prior outburst, it actually is a good system. It all worked fine this afternoon, and got a good timetable, with 3 days off :D

My only problem is the changing subject delay, however that should be cleared up soon, and that is only a problem because of the conversion (which takes a while, understandably - still annoying though). It should be perfect for next year.

Ok I just handed in my Change of subjects form and I was told to wait about 2 weeks for it to be processed since they have got emails and forms to get through. Disaster as usual ;)

From what I can tell if you'd changed it before timetabling opened you could have done it instantly, online (what I did).

Fixed my timetable, no days off (well i wasn't expecting any) but no long breaks either. The system is nice and useful when it works, but it doesn't hold up to high volume of students accessing it :(
