It looks like other faculties are having extreme difficulties coping with the demand of students.  I guess this time round, science students got it lucky while unfortunately other students are left out in the dark.

By the way, you can view your sanctions through the portal on the admin page.

Tell me about it. My timetable nearly frustrated me to tears the other day. Called the admin people SO MANY TIMES and they still didn't respond. I'm never going to get my timetable done.

was pretty pissed off, took me like 10 mins to decide on my preferred timetable >_> fingers crossed that when the system automatically sorts everyone's preferences for them it gives me my #1 preferred timetable like it has, every semester, for the past 5 semesters

I constructed my timetable on the day it opened within a timeframe of about 15 minutes. No hassles at all. Got spots in all the lectures and tutorials that I wanted. It's just the luck of the draw.
There will always be issues when a new computer system is implemented- it's inevitable, regardless of the academic institution implicated.
The only reason that everyone is having trouble changing subjects is because the student portal is being upgraded and study plans are being generated. They just decided to do it at a very inconvenient time.

Is anyone getting 'Unavailable' tutes? How do you get on the waiting list?

From what I understand the tutes will open up more spots periodically (maybe they didn't have all spots open at the start to make it fair to everyone?) so just log in on the 12th and try to get in when they're available.

Yes the same thing is happening to my friend with Self and Other.
Student center didn't process her subject change and then when she tried to register for tutes none were there and it just said 'Unavailable?'
But they will open more tutes soon!

I know.  It's so misleading.  I actually had my hopes up when I heard about this new "waiting list" and I thought it would be pretty cool.  Needless to say, I'm pretty disappointed with UoM's idea of a "waiting list".

I have a "Block Online Enrolment" temporary sanction, which means "access to add subjects online is temporarily blocked while a formal Study Plan is established".

Do I need to do anything about this, or will it resolve itself once the student centre have done their thing? "Temporary" suggests I don't need to worry, but it says "contact your local Student Centre" to have it lifted (I'm wondering if it means to have it lifted immediately, rather than once the student centre do whatever they need to do..). Anyone know?

I like the new timetable system, but these "sanction" things are weird. Why use such a serious word if it's only a temporary admin issue..?
