Yeah his is pretty full on, ~19 hours :(
If you took the same subjects in science you'd have similar hours in 1st year and more in 2nd year. 3rd year would depend on your major.

Pracs run every fortnight?

Yeah, my timetable this semester is the first time I've had major gaps. Sucks :(

Depends on subjects. If you do chem/bio/physics 101 in science, you'll be looking at 3 lectures + 1 tute + 1 prac = 7 hours per subject/week.
So that's 21 hours, and if you take an arts breadth (usually 3 contact hours split over lectures/tutes) you're up to 24.

But if pracs don't run every week, you can cut a bit off that :)

oh yeah wow that's quite a lot of hours! without pracs it's still like ~18 if arts is breadth.
at least my first semester is going to be cruisy with 2 arts + 2 science subjects so that's fine to get used to things^^

If it's any consulation, a few of my mates in science who had like 22-25 hr weeks in first year now seem to have around 14-18 in second year. I'm not sure if thats because they're only doing certain subjects, but it is what it is.

YAY! One out of the two timetable clashes that I've had has been resolved.

Now I just have one clash...I don't think they'll remove that one clash :(

Semester 2 starts tomorrow so if you are at uni, it would be best to drop by the Eastern Precinct Centre and ask them just in case.

Usually when you enrol and select your subjects, you need to give the system time to update and for staff to verify but it's been a while so it's best to double check.

Anyone know if you can get the student centres to forcefully move you into full tutorials if you tell them you are working other times? That worked under the old system...

Well, today I went to the student centre to move a lab that was clashing with a lecture/tute. There were only two lab classes and one was very overfull. I asked them to put me into the overfull one and they did it for me. :)

Rules say that you'd either have to have a clash or have a very good reason to move into an overfull class.  However, it really depends on your Student Centre.  I'm not sure about the commerce one but with the science one, I had several friends who walked in and requested to be moved.  They all went in at different times and got what they wanted, although one of them had to sweet talk her way to get her timetable changed.

It all depends on who you're talking to I guess.
