My book covers the magistrates court extensively, am i suppose to learn all of the information ? If not, which parts would be appropriate to know for a sac?

For example, do i have to know about the koori court and the family violence division?

So for the civil jurisdiction of the magistrates court i have to know about: arbitration, pre-hearing conferences, mediation, enforcement orders and geographical jurisdiction?

this is from justice and outcomes btw.

With my class, we basically have to know that the Magistrates Court hears claims up to the amount of $100,000, either personal or property claims, and that any claims less than $10,000 are automatically referred to arbitration.

When we had our sac based on the Magistrates court we just needed to know the original and appealate jurisdiction Of the court as well as how it hears claims up to $100,000!

I got 98% for my Magistrate court Sac and so that's all I studied... soo yeah GOOD LUCK! :D

yeah thats what it says on the study design, so maybe i should just learn that. I was meant to ask my teacher today but he's been away the past two days and my sac is on monday.

Also, does anyone know what i should know in regards to VCAT?

I think you need to know about 3 lists (divisions/tribunals) of the VCAT.

We've just hit the last AOS for the year in class and suddenly legal is one of my fave subjects again. Teacher predicted 40+ for me. I want 45+. Im sort of dreading the exam because I seem to forget everything as soon as we move on. need to start revising unit 3 now.

Unit 3 is rather small in comparison to Unit 4 which is a bonus though

i'll agree to that. half my text book is used to cover unit 4 and now our teacher, despite telling us we've been ahead all year is now rushing us. so much to learn and we're only up to criminal procedures

We're not even up to criminal procedures, we're only doing our AOS1 SAC on Tuesday on the courts and VCAT etc. There'll be little time for exam preparation.

We've just started criminal procedures.... SAC on AOS 1 this week..... Legal is gunna be pushing it in terms of finishing the course efficiently with enough time to study

Same, it definately pays to be a little bit ahead of the class in legal studies.
