Could somebody please explain to me what DNA sequncing is, Heinemann has the worst explanation ever

DNA sequencing is determing the exact order ("sequence") of bases in a piece of DNA/gene/chromosome. So when you sequence the genome of an organism, you know exactly how many bases there are as well as what each individual base is. Scientists then share the information so they can use it for further research - a quick search can tell you that yeast has about 12 million base pairs in its genome.

that okay? what was the heinemann explanation?

The heinemann explanation was just too complicated......i just didn't understand the point of DNA sequencing. your explanation made it clearer for me , thanks :)
