wow, I thought teachers usually explained all this? basically, there are no set texts, and because the examiners are media teachers, they would know most of the movies anyway! you aren't been tested on how well you know the film anyway, but rather, how well you know media techniques and such. remember, use the correct terms! I for one, hate all the films I studied, well, hate them now.. we have gone quite in depth with them and now I'm just plain sick of all three..

arrghh you have NO idea how jealous i am of you right now.
donnie darko is one of my favourite movies by FAR. however, we did some pretty awesome movies.

i reckon that media influences is harder then narrative. maybe its because i have a drama/theatre background and its much easier for me to talk about acting and lighting then it is for other students... its a possiblilty :]

Lol I have to agree with you, doing media has taken away some of the brainlessness I used to have while watching movies. Like I end up analyzing the movie I watch. Lucky the films we studied this year weren't too appealing to me.

I disagree. I think studying a film you really like just makes it so much more interesting, and you have so much more of an appreciation for the film you loved so much. Although, I think there is a point where the analysing has to stop otherwise it can become very boring and make you hate the film. Anyway, I love the films we watched, and I love them even more now.

I used to like/love the films we studied, but after three excersise books in a couple of months, I now HATE Unbreakable, don't want to watch Aliens, and don't have any sudden urges to see Wolverine kick some ass...

All to their own I guess, I find that I ruin movies for others 'now days :( lol.. I'm better than ever at figuring out endings and just over analysing and critiquing the text. :D
