Just wondering if anyone has completed the first year of Health sciences, and can tell me/give me an indication of the difficulty of the subject. Considering I'll probably need a WMA of 81 for all 8 subjects in order to transfer.

Depends on the course and university - don't see it being easy to get an 81 average though.

I've completed it at La Trobe, as part of the Common first year.

Although i cant say if youll find it easy or not, ill explain my experience with it. All year, you have two subjects that are the "harder" ones. HBS1HBA and HBS1HBB. This is the anatomy and physiology subjects (and 50% of the subject is from the exam). It may not be that difficult to pass, but the general consensus they are the h"hardest subjects" in the Health Science course. But, in saying that, I put in constant work - consistantly, and I did alright. The other subjects were alot 'easier', with the exam only accounting for roughly 25% of your total grade. the hardest part of these subjects was trying to remain interested in getting a good grade. Because the subject content isnt all that interesting, and it is easy to just have the mindset of "ahh, I cant it stuffed with this - it is not relevent to my course, thus i dont have to do well"

I guess what I'm trying to say is if you can stay focused, and dedicated to your work, you are setting yourself up for a good mark. Whether or not you get 81, it depends on your perfromance in the assessments (o, rly?). But getting 81, and having a social/relax time is very very possible (well it was for me anyway).

Any other questions, let me know.

Aqualim are you looking at health sciences alone? The one with the ATAR of 60?

Im thinking about doing the same thing.

Would it be easier to transfer into physio after doing health sciences/ masters in xxxxxxxxx rather than just health science alone?
