I got the clear top SAC rank in a fairly average school and a low A+ in the exam for PE - that got me a 43. So that's what I am basing my assumptions off mostly, that and some common sense. Seeing that our A+ cutoff was fairly low again, I'm guessing you can lose about 6ish I suppose, but yeah it would be good to get a few people that received about 50 and see what they scored in their exams.

Mavisgibbons said she lost 12 mark across both exams and got a 50. I assume she got that from her statement of marks..

but I spoke to someone who got a 49, and they said they lost 6.5 marks on exam 1, and got full marks on exam 2.

this is confusing!

Yep there's a start :) But we would have to look at A+ cutoffs, her SAC marks even...
Btw when did you order your statements? I ordered Tuesday and I'm still waiting :(

Damn. Was it in 2009 also? If so, it was probably sac marks/cohort performance that made the difference i guess.

yeah, last year.  i wish they made public the required marks for particular study scores each year.

Haha, that would have been the more logical thing to do :) It better come Monday.

Hmm, interesting. Yes, either SAC marks, or perhaps mavisgibbons surpassed the threshold for a 50. E.g. if you got 100% on both exams you'll get a 50 but so will someone that got 90% on both exams.

Yeah, that would be awesome, but as I understand it they could only do this for rank 1 in the cohort.

*edit - and even then they'd need to be able to accurately predict the state's exam performance (if they were to let us know our required marks that is).

hi, i don't think its possible that the person, in question who got 68.5 and 75 got a 49 unless their sac marks were quite ordinary. I go to a pretty strong school in Scotch and ive been told that the person who got a 50 last year got 63.5 in eexam 1 73.5 in exam 2 and 190/200  RAW in sacs which probably MODERATED to 198/199 out of 200. THe next highest score was a 47, with 68.5 in exam 1 61.5 in exam 2 and 196 RAW in sacs probably moderated to 200. A teacher, who is an assesor told me that its better to smash an exam , and perhaps do poorly in another than do "alright" in both. All of this statistical moderation stuff, i guess.

One more question, what would you guys think would be a high A+ on this years bio, above 66-67?

I was disappointed with mine too, I was all excited with my A+ only to find it was pretty much the lowest A+ possible :L
