Would you repeat Year 12? [Poll]

I've seen this pop up a lot lately and its seriously something I'm considering, i just wanted to get a poll going and see how many other people were thinking about it too and their reasons.

I'm seriously thinking about it if my scores are too low but it might just be a fantasy. I don't know if ill ever go through it even if my score is well below what i wanted. Probably half because what people would think and i can't really be bothered going through all this over again.

I voted i would just probably move on, long as i can get into science at either melbourne or monash i wont be *Terribly* disappointed...

What are your guys thoughts?

(Was a bit hesitant to add undecided cause i reckon a lot of people will pick this one but i understand the feeling of being undecided about it)

If you repeat year 12 are you able to choose specifically which subjects you want to repeat?

If i choose to repeat year 12, i'm gonna probably repeat chem, methods and spesh. As well as pick up uni maths + another 3/4

Yes, but not exactly 'repeat' in the same way
- Repeat englang and actually do work
- Repeat methods if get <40, starting exams from the beginning.
- Biology and put heaps of effort in
All at TAFE and then heaps of free time to play, work and have fun~
(as i've said so many times)

It wouldn't be that bad at all, but it would be absolutely horribly to repeat it at school i personally believe.
For me that (i'd probably end up just doing two, depends though) is a semi-gap year :)

Oh and, there is pretty much no point in repeating if your scores are too low for a non-specialised degree as transfers are possible and there are other options. So pretty much only ever agree with someone to repeat if it was for Med, and possibly dent&law.

Yeah, you can do totally new subjects or the same ones over again, if i were to do it over again id do a mix of both of these.

It wouldn't be that bad at all, but it would be absolutely horribly to repeat it at school i personally believe.

I would never go back to my school and repeat it either unless i was like seriously sick thats an acceptable excuse. IF i show up again my teachers will be like ahh...wtf...

I'd also do it at tafe or via distance ed

Tafes offer VCE like schools do, its pretty much the same.

It's not much different from the VCE you're doing now.. except its just in a tafe

There may be more or less classes than you're used to or classes might go for longer but i cant vouch for that

You just have your class all at once (or twice a week) in a more adult enviroment.. I do englang at TAFE and my teacher is better then any teacher at my school i've had, it's just like normal classes without the gayness of school

Mostly adults...I assume those that left at year 10, worked in something for couple of years and decided they wanted a degree

Yeah it is but a lot also offer VCE too

My english language teacher used to be a geneticist and she taught biology at tafe for 12 years.. so i guess that just shows its just not plumbing and stuff

Id probably do:
*Revolutions (I really like history and the stuff my friends in revs do look awesome)
*Philosophy
*Possibly Methods or Chemistry over again
*Maybe economics or something else too but id like limit it to a couple subjects

Oh ok, thanks. Haven't really experienced a tafe enviroment before.

Hmm... so you can repeat just like 1 or 2 subjects and go to tafe a few times a week. other times just chill? sounds way better than going back to school... could you do uni maths and a few subs at tafe? how would you apply and all that

I think someone said somewhere else on this website you need to apply through your school to do uni maths and get a high enough score too... so you'd need to tell your current school youd be doing year 12 again somewhere else or something.

Yeah and since assuming you've already got at least 4 subjects which is enough to get an enter, you could do as many subjects as you like (even 1 but thats a bit of a waste... id do at least 2)
