Is underrepresented equal for all schools? or are some MORE underrep'd than others? cos i only need 88 to get into any uom course
umm you may want to check that, I also thought that, but turns out you only get in on 88 if you are from a disadvantaged background (financial/social), nothing else. Check the future students online Magazine to confirm what I've said

wait, are you a KLD scholar?? my friend was accepted for it and she says that with the UR status she can get into melb uni biomed with a 90.00 :o
otherwise i always thought the UR status earns you a 2 ATAR point drop....
yep that's correct, didn't realize how good it actually is, pays off for trying in year 10 hahaha

so how many points do they reduce if you go to an underrepresented school? Also dont you have to apply and get recommendations from school teachers first?

if the average mark for an exam overall is C+, and the average mark in your school was C+, then your school is not a "crap school"
vce: english, methods, spesh, chemistry, physics, geography.

Well i'm currently attending an under-represented school, and its been like that for ages actually.

1. There are only 70 Year 12's attending
2. 5 people are doing Chemistry
3. 6 people are doing Specialist
4. 7 people doing Physics
5. 11 people doing Methods

there is something wrong right there.

wow so not only do you have a small year level but very few a choosing any subjects that scale up :o and that's the presuming that each student only chose one of those subjects...

well as i mentioned before there are 28 year 12's at my school:
2 people doing physics (me included)
4 people doing specialist
7 people doing chemistry (me included)
8 people oing methods (me included)

compared to your school, i should be stoked with that many people doing a hard subject lol.

wowie thats crazy haha

All 5 people in my chem class is doing all the other 5 subjects (physics, methods, specialist, english), its a pretty small class (this is including me too by the way)

but damn, only 28 people in Year 12, thats gotta be crazy stuff haha.

When we have school assemblies, its funny how like 1/5 are filled with Year 12's, and like 4/5 are filled with Year 11's haha.

to be honest
u cant apply for under rep school just kus u have less people.

if anything . having less people is the BIGGEST advantage
1. teachers dont have to aid to everyone .. ( we have 29 in our bio class .. makes it difficult for teacher to talk to anyone individually)

2. .. less people to be ranked against = easier to get marks.

1000000% right my friend :)
i went to a school with 200+ people in my year for 1 term and couldn't stand it, there's just no 1-on-1 with students and the teachers cant even remember your name. that's probably why i stayed at my school, i mean, teaching wise it's pretty crap, but on a personal level its really good :) before my midyears i was pretty stressed and a teacher that i've never been taught by pulled me aside one day and had a full on 15 minute talk with me about how i'll do my best no matter what results i get :) and that really did help.

Apparently, my teachers were like to me and the year 12 class, we could apply through PPP (P-something Portfolio Program) for Vic Uni, SNAP Program for RMIT, and SEAS for Monash and Melbourne Uni and its been like that for the past couple of years. idk why, but all i know is that my school is pretty bad.
