read the selection guarantee section.
I know but it just doesn't make sense. I go to a school where 90% of people receive centrelink so how would the uni provide enough places for every1 who qualifies for this?

90%? wow.
I guess the general idea is that the majority wouldn't qualify ATAR wise, or wouldn't apply for Melbourne Uni.
They wouldn't publish something like this if they didn't mean it. I know of people who have got into courses through it.

If it says it's guaranteed, it's guaranteed. (But you need to be underrepresented and in category 5(centrelink, etc))

Anyway as a warning to all those taking advantage of this, even though you could get in with 10 ATAR under, doesn't make the course any easier. The workload is made out to be for someone who can achieve a high ATAR (~97 or whatever it is, yes this ATAR crap is arguable w/e don't ask me) so I assume not everyone would take advantage of this if they consider the level of difficulty in a course that has high enter requirements (for non underrepresented).

If I'm wrong and everyone still takes advantage of this, good luck UOM! :D
