My text teacher is one of the examiners and she said that during early october they'll be a Text and Tradition revision lecture held at Melbourne Uni I think that will talk to us about what is expected in the exam, show us sample A+ exam answers and notes, lot's and lots of notes :D

When's this? Only revision day i heard of is the one coming up this Thursday.
Mind if you tell me?

Yeah, I went to that one last night which was good to just re-enforce everything. How is your year finding the subject, are they doing well? Is there one at melbourne uni?

i went last night too!

umm my class is finding it alright, we're doing pretty well as a class but since there are only 8 of us, it's hard to know if doing well is actually an achievement

heyy, I do Text and tradition ( The Quranic Section though) .... yes this is a new study design and you won't find many exam type questions.

Have you tried the 2008/2009 vcaa exam?

My text teacher is one of the examiners and she said that during early october they'll be a Text and Tradition revision lecture held at Melbourne Uni I think that will talk to us about what is expected in the exam, show us sample A+ exam answers and notes, lot's and lots of notes :D

I can keep you updated if you want, or possibly send you my notes, dw I don't think you do the Quranic part, but the lecture will be board and about the subject as a whole! :)

hi i do text and traditions (quranic section) and i was hoping you could send me your notes, it would be greatly appreciated

Damn Texts and Traditions. I did it last year, twas the bane of my life! Too bad i didn't discover this thread earlier aw, could've posted some of my old notes.

advice (that's also relevant to other subjects): because the questions on the exam are so specific, DO PRACTICE EXAMS to time, and do it until you get ti right. Force yourself to spend no longer than the alloted minutes. It's the only thing that got me through! And in the end i actually missed the subject for some reason, i quite liked the 'historical' part of it haha. :) Good luck!!

and ps. A 50 in T&T is fucking hard to get. I got all high A+s and assumed  I would at least pull out a 45 or 46- nope!

Haha thanks! I was actually disappointed, overestimated what I would get, not enough understanding of the ranking process i suppose. I seriously worked my ass off all year, so glad i did but regretting not doing two year 12 subjects in year 11. Do you remember what questions you did on the exam? I loved the short answer ones.
