Doing economics in Monash

I was wondering, there's a possiblity that I might not be able to make it to unimelb but if I do get into Monash, is it worth it to travel for roughly 1.5 hours? I live in the western suburbs which is why I have my doubts on going but I heard that Monash is good with economics aside from unimelb. If I what i heard was correct, is it worth doing the travel?

Or is it better to look for accomodation? (which might be more expensive.)

I live in the western suburbs too, for undergraduate, there's not that much difference b/w monash and uom for economics. It takes me around 2 hrs just to get to monash by public transport so yeah the transport is quite tough, unless you can drive.

If you can't make it into Melbourne, yes Monash is worth it. I do take 1.5-2 hours to get to uni most days, but meh - forget about that, just focus on the end lol

Get an ipod and just sleep on the train~~

Can you read books while on the train? I mean you gotta have something worth to do when you're in the train since you're usually in it for 4 hours :-X

Silly question, yes.  :buck2:

yes the train from flinders to pakenham/cranbourne is perfect for some reading - not very full at like 8+am you can get a section to yourself =D

or just sleep to make up for the time you could have just stayed in bed had you lived nearer..

just a heads up, getting to monash in the morning or mid-day is way easier that going back in the evening

going to uni : 80mins ave
going home :  100mins ave :(

pakenham and werribee lines are always 2 mins after each other so lots of running practice for me

yeah sometimes travelling is pretty boring, which is why you should to minimise the number of days you go to uni haha, or if you have useless lectures and stuff, just don't go to them and put all your tutes on 1 day

My parents don't mind me wagging at all LOL, although I'm wagging far less this sem compared to last semester, when I was hardly at Uni
