Linear Programming

If an inequality is > or <, that means the maximum and minimum cannot occur in one of these corners. So what do we do? Do we say the maximum occurs below/above that point? Or we got to move 1 co ordinate down from both axis (x and y)?

Those who did graphs and relations, do you find textbook questions a lot harder than exams? Are textbook questions necessary?
