My class is half way through the core SAC, we should be starting our next module (Number Patterns) at the end of next week. I think we are pretty slow? Where is everyone else up to?

Yeah, mine is 10 periods (40 minutes is a period). It seems long but time is starting to get tight. The summary at the end will need the longest amount of time, my teacher said to leave 2 periods for that.

Mine is 7 periods (50 minute periods). Only used one period so far. Fairly simple but very time consuming drawing three boxplots.

Ok... not that time consuming but still not as quick as I usually would answer questions

Do you mean on box plots? Me confused.
Um anyway their was a bit of a =S on our sac. It said draw all three boxplots on one set of axis's but if you did that it would be too squishy because the data was spread out. (0.55 to like 12.57) so teacher said it would be fine if we did three separate box plots on 3 axis's but we had to keep the same scale. Does that mean that for each boxplot in my examples I had to keep the increase in the X-axis constant? Like each cm was a 0.5 tons per capita increase. It stayed the same on all of them and I also did a little scale . 1cm = 0.5 tons per capita

I think you need to keep the 1cm = 0.5 tons per capita, but you can change the start and end values of the scale? Like start the scale from the boxplots minimum value and go to the max value.. as long as you keep the 1cm increase.

I have a question also:

'Determine the equation for the three median regression line. Define and use appropriate symbols'.

What does 'Define and use appropriate symbols' mean? Is it just y=ax+b.. asking me to put the appropriate values in the right spot? It made me a little confused as to what it was asking.

Yeah defining the appropriate symbols does mean providing the equation in the form of y=ax+b.

But it also means that you have to define the two variables in the relationship.

That is, what do x and y symbolise? I am unaware of what the question entails but an example of the two variables might be height and weight.

Yeah, okay I thought that was it. Thanks for replying Nick. The variables are GDP and literacy rate. So it is simply a matter of just stating, x=GDP and y=literacy rates ?
