people say "im going to do 30, even 50" just to sound like some smart ass nerd

besides english, where there is no definite answer so practise is essential, there is no need (although it is obviously beneficial) to do so many

do as many until you are comfortable with yourself. knowing the course is one thing, being able to word yourself and write is another

although you dont need to do 50 as some people have said.

Yeah, there is no such thing as an 'ideal number' of prac exams - it definitely varies from person to person, and just do as many/less as you need to feel comfortable with yourself :)

I think personally.
its not about how many exams you do.
you keep doing them untill you can get 100% on 3-5 in a row . then you stop

for some . it may be within the first 5-10 exams ... for others it may take 50+.

but that's just what i do anyhow :D

Lol I haven't gotten 100% 3-5 times in a row yet for any subject. Even for Methods last year I only got 100% on like a third of the exams and it was never more than twice in a row.
2009
~ Methods (Non-CAS) [48 --> 49.4]

2010
~ Spesh [50 --> 51.6]
~ Physics [50 --> 50]
~ Chem [43 --> 46.5]
~ English [46 --> 46.2]
~ UMEP Maths [5.0]

2010 ATAR: 99.90
Aggregate 206.8

i dont think i've ever got 100% on a prac exam. i always mark myself as harsh as possible and am thus bound to always lose a mark in short answer q's

well ive nearly done all exam 1's for methods available to me :S
so from '06 to '10, so thats 5 years worth of exams from tssm, tsfx, insight, hefferman, neap, vcaa (excluding '10 obviously)
thats roughly 29+ exams.... fml cause i still havent gotten a score higher than 72% :(
give me options people cause i seriously feel as though im wasting my time

with no intention to sound condescending in any way, if u were consistently scoring sub 72% on the exams then u shouldnt have continued on with them. As taiga has said, record your errors, realise ur fault then attempt the same questions again. if you find that it is a particular concept u are having trouble with, go back and do the chapter reviews in ur textbook, and once the exams u have already done are not so fresh in ur mind, re-do them. you'll get there :)

thanks for the advice :) i made a couple big break throughs on the last exam which should earn me around 3-4 more marks (10%) so hopefully the next time i post here ill have some better news.

20+ essays is goooood i reckon for lit/englang.
english 30+ is probably betterrrrrr.

so many xD

but if you set aside 1hr a day, you can do 30 essays in 30 days, so possible..

I don't think you need to do 20+ for lit... well, maybe 15.
You don't do lit, but having to analyse passages like that in lit exhausts me, and most likely other people. I don't know, wait for Evangelion zeta to check this out if he sees this. I guess if you do it consistently though, 20+ is possible, although I've only done like ....5 throughout the WHOLE year (but im crap.)
My two cents :D.

And what happens if it doesn't take 1 hour... but you need to get it done? As in in an hour all you've got is like 500 words.

30 essays in 30 days= burnout.

^ haha i was just saying it's possible. it's not too much of a burn out because 1hr really isn't that much.
i could never do it.. maybe 5/wk is more realistic, and still you can complete 20 by the time of your exam.
and yeah i know the format of lit essays, i find them better than english (was originally planning on lit), yes it's difficult/need more words and increased sophistication, but you really only have an hour to do each essay in the exams and check, so depends if you do it in timed conditions..

before last week i had done maybe 2 essays the entire year of englang, need to push to up ><
we must study guiiizzz
