It is really variable.  Like today I did MAV 2009, and I dropped 3 marks, but other days I have shockers and lose like 10. :(

It is using the calculator I think... It slows me down so much.

The other thing is that I find some of the questions to be so vague, and I sometimes struggle to work out what it is exactly asking for, but I think this is more of a poor quality questions thing which wouldn't be a worry on VCAA.

What are people doing 1st.  MC or SA ?  Derrick Ha said to do SA first so I have changed, but prior to that for all of my schooling, I have always done MC first in like every test/exam for like bio, chem, physics or maths.
Just, finish on time =/. Most of the Methods veterans could finish with 1/2 hour to go.

Lol I finished the real exam with 10 minutes to go
2009
~ Methods (Non-CAS) [48 --> 49.4]

2010
~ Spesh [50 --> 51.6]
~ Physics [50 --> 50]
~ Chem [43 --> 46.5]
~ English [46 --> 46.2]
~ UMEP Maths [5.0]

2010 ATAR: 99.90
Aggregate 206.8

I think I'm gonna have to stop rushing so I can achieve the kind of results you obtain -.-

Sigh I "anti-rushed" too much if that makes sense. Was being way, way too careful >.< I was rechecking all my answers step by step after I did them.

I finished with 35 mins and got 42, kyzoo finished with 10 minutes and got 48. Following this projection, you should aim to finish with 1.77 minutes remaining for 50.

Lol

Seriously though, you should avoid rushing. If I was more methodical and sedulous in checking my answers I daresay I would have achieved a markedly higher result. Careless errors are a killer in methods.

xD xD I would run out of time by an hour I used the same exam technique for Spesh/Chem that I used for Methods

Weren't you scared you wouldn't finish the exam on time?

At the beginning, no, because I had already tried the same approach like 5 times on practice exams. When there was about 20 minutes remaining and I had half of the last extended response question to go, yes, xD.

Haha :p

I guess I'm gonna have to try going at a slower pace in the upcoming papers I do.

How many of your subjects have you actually done 50 exams for?

That number of exams is, to my mind, ludicrous.

Methods and physics last year, It sorta worked well I guess :)

You should work on your timing, that is way too long for a chem paper.
