how does budgeting assists ‘planning’ and ‘control’.

Budgeting assists planning by predicting what is likely to occur in the future. This allows the owner to prepare for what is likely to occur so that possible problems may be managed, and possible opportunities may be taken.

I think that sort of relates to 'control' as Bugdeting predicts what may occur in the future, identifying problem areas, thus, the owner can taken corrective action to fix it. In that sense you could say Budgeting assists in 'control'.

You might want to expand on this point... I don't think mine is detailed/clear enough.
