How to find nth term in polynomial expansion

I've searched this up but i can't find actually how to do it.

- In order of decreasing powers of x, find the 8th term in the expansion of
2009: Texts & Traditions (28)
2010: English (45), Chemistry (40), Methods CAS (43), Specialist Maths (42)
ATAR: 98.40

Just wrote this up in my notes:

mth term of is

So the 8th term is

Where the hell was this in the methods course? Apparently it's in the study design but i've never heard of it before, nor have i come across it in my textbook

I think Derrick Ha assumes the people that are going to his lecture are geniuses already... i couldn't do most of the "basic" skills questions

I think Derrick Ha assumes the people that are going to his lecture are geniuses already... i couldn't do most of the "basic" skills questions

They are pretty basic, this gets disregarded on exams alot but it is Chap 1A of mathsquest
vce: english, methods, spesh, chemistry, physics, geography.
