Hmmmm can someone give me advice as well? :P

The reason that I want to repeat is because I'm not doing method, and in order to get into my course, I can either repeat and get a higher ATAR, or do MTH1010 at Monash and transfer there later.

In your case, i would probably repeat and just do 2 subjects. Methods + something you like. It's not a loss because you WILL get in with 100% certainty.

This thread pretty much goes through it, if you want to know peoples ideas and all the perils/ advantages of repeating - http://vcenotes.com/forum/index.php/topic,28277.0.html

Generally theres not many actual disadvantages to repeating, emotional/cbf/i hate this VCE hell/my mates will be out getting wasted in uni comes into play into that decision though.

Your score can't actually get any lower, that is a guarantee.

It will raise but what if it doesnt raise up to what you need? Theres where the trouble is.

If it doesn't get as high as you need, you've basically spent another year in year 12 for nothing.

If you think its the best idea and you are fairly certain you can get to the required score realistically, then i think you should do it. (Eg. If someone got 60 first time around, it'd be quiet a jump for them to get 98 second time... if you got 96 and needed 98, repeating would probably work)

However, the other option of moving onto uni is a better one i reckon.

Well, the thing is...

I don't think I'm going to get above 95+ which is the required score to get into Monash (I'm 16). And internal transfer is much easier then say, going to UoM and applying for an external transfer. What I am hoping to get is above 95+ of course, but I could just easily repeat because I'm 2/1 years younger than my general cohort.

I generally think in your situation it'd probably be better to just go to uni.

Unless you really dont want to spend a year in something else...

What atar do you honestly think you will get?

(haha i wish my parents pushed me, i might actually get something done..)

Ok, well you seem like a pretty bright person, if you got like 92-93 i reckon if you tried you could get over 98 fairly easily by picking subjects you are capable at or redoing ones you let down (youll know most of the stuff so youll do rather well).

What do you think held you back from getting the score you wanted?
