Reference Books are so overrated!!! You're wasting your time if you're looking at it for more than 2 minutes!

Either you know it or you don't - that goes for Further, Methods and Spec. I never did Further but I can tell you during my spec exam, as well as all the trail papers I have done for methods and spec, I would have only referred to it about 4 times - and I completed about 7 exam 2s for spec and so far 12 exam 2s for methods.

Yeah, you'll never use it.

Things that you expect that you may need to refer to, you should put on an A4 page or at most 2 A4s.

Having an entire book is superfluous, actually it can only inhibit performance; the chances of finding something useful are slim, and all the while you look time is ticking...

^same, I wrote out everything I felt was important in a 96 page exercise book, more for revision than to actually refer to in the exam (apart from a section at the back which I'm filling with tricky questions w/worked solutions).
IMO it's worth a lot more to create your own bound reference than just take in some book...chances are, you won't use it at all, and if you do, it won't be for more than a minute.
Writing up the book was kind of my warm-up before tackling practice exams.
I won the GAT: 49/50/50.
