I've been asked by a few people to post up an exam of my own making... which is kind of an odd request.... :idiot2: but i'm happy to oblige if enough people want me to.  :smitten:

NOTE: exam has been amended for the 5th time. Should be ok now. First question should read show its constant.

Thank you Chavi for fixing up the last question, I was being a bit silly on that one.

I've also added another at the end.

Word 2007 has a pretty good equations editor, I think Kilbaha uses Word to write their exams.

Anyway, I can't so no to more 2010 exams, but I'd strongly consider how much time it will take you to create a full exam and type everything up looking nice as time you could spend studying.

2010 ATAR: 99.45, congrats to the VCENotes class of 2010 :)
2011: Commerce/Engineering@Monash. Keen to tutor VCE students next year in any of the above subjects except English and IT, feel free to shoot me a PM if you have any questions relating to those subjects, probably won't be on this site often now, but PMs go to my email.

Only 5 hours? well done. Go work for NEAP. This is some ridiculous efficiency.

And on the topic of typesetting maths, that document seem very LyX-esque. I however think LyX is a bit too much like MSWord in the sense that you have to use your mouse to navigate around things, and you don't have complete control over the display of equations, as you cannot easily edit the source-code. LyX is a WYSIWYG editor for LaTeX, and I like to write my documents in raw LaTeX (like a programming language). The result is often nicer.

Follow this guide to install a Windows client for LaTeX. The AoPS link also has some good introductory tutorials. [TeXnic center is a good one to start off with, it's got plenty of support. Once you get used to it I suggest TeXworks, it's more lightweight and nicer to use.]

And here's a template I use: http://vcenotes.com/forum/index.php/topic,25078.msg262736.html#msg262736

thanks Mao! and 5 hours is a LONG time, you're telling me they take longer than that to churn out this?

err for the last question, is should be less than or equal to 1. My bad.

Also because i need to go back into year 9 maths, I've got the form wrong in the last one. I've done the solutions now and will post them up as well as the fully amended version of this one
