At the Start of the Year if you had asked me, i would have said the easiest would be:
Language Analysis-Text Response-Context

Now it's

Context-Text Response-Language Analysis.
Ancient Persian Proverb; " I Wept because i had no Shoes, until i saw a man with no feet!"

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Context was Identity and Belonging. Ideas used: micheal jackson (how he changed his appearance from black to white), muslim women and the pressure to ban the burqua: note that this is an on going issue, so even you can shove that into your essay, then some bullshitting about general social issues of fitting in the community but discussion focused mainly on witness.I wrote ~1100 words.
Overall, i managed to pull a 40 raw.

How were your sacs?
sem 1: A+ (med)
sem 2: A (high) - teacher found that i was using same ideas for context, but what can you do? lol
exam: A+
Note: im not actually saying that you should pre-plan your essays, ofcourse you need to make sure that your essay relates to the question and don't deviate from the topic either (pretty sure you've heard this a hundred times). It's just that i got lazy..which is why my sem2 SAC marks were bad..

you must have performed under par on your exam... receiving all A> throughout the year, writing 1100 words in context, and only managed a 40 raw? (still a sick ass score dont get me wrong lol)

Kotza...

Read through some of the TSFX sample essays that I posted a thread about..

For the 2 context SACs this year, I did one as an opinion piece and one as a speech. Both were not high A+ standard... I wasn't happy with them at all. Not even the slightest.

So for the past week or two, I've practised doing expository essays. I'm not sure if they fit more in the expository or the persuasive side of essay writing... but the point is, these are the ONLY essay-form context pieces I have done all year... and I can already sense that I'll get better marks for these kind of pieces.

So I highly suggest you take up an essay format of context writing if you're struggling to flesh out your ideas in creative writing.. essays have a given structure, and you can be far more explicit and clear with your point of view. Now is the time to start practising essays if you haven't already started... but I guess we have been taught essay writing from year 7.. so yeah, it shouldn't be hard to pick up on it.

And besides, the textual reference can appear far more explicit (if that is what you are aiming for).

as you would be lol
my cohort is pathetic.. literally pathetic.
average for the last SAC was 21/50, 42%!!!!!! :| :| :|

however my teacher expects me to get a 43 ... which is asking for a bit much but yea, i guess thats what you get for leaving a school that gets 40% of its kids getting over 90 to a school that gets <10% lol. ):

lol no shit dude, but if i was averaging over A's all year, id be looking towards the mid section!
thats when cohort and all that complicated unequal shit comes into play though.
