So i'm currently in year 11, and i want to get a head start as soon as my year 11 exams finish on methods and am just wondering how did people go about doing Methods 3&4.
Study routines?
How they prepared for assessments?

If you want a head start, try look through methods 3/4 through the holidays.

Personally in year 12 I didn't really prepare for SACs etc, I just read alot of cool maths books throughout the year, was a fun year of mathematics.

Well thats what my plan is but i want to do REALLY well in methods 3 and 4.

Would it be a good idea to finish the whole methods course before school starts?

if you want the biggest headstart then yeah do it asap.

i noticed that 3 and 4 methods is pretty similar to units 1 and 2, so you should be able to breeze through it.

Definitely, you should at least find out the first topic your school is covering so you're ready for the first sac.
I didn't do any of the course in the holidays and i am doing really crap in methods.

So what was your routine before school started on the holidays?

What did you do?
How should i use this time before year 12 starts to my advantage in the best possible way?

Also whats the difficulty difference compared to year 11?

Not much imo, you still do logs, exponentials, circular functions, probability and diff and antidiff is a huge part of it.
I wouldn't say it's that much harder.

3/4 Methods is fun :D
I've done binomial + normal which were alright, and have also done a bit of the chain/product/quotient rule and now I LOVE hard differentiation questions. It's so fun.

Um I didn't have a life, dedicated my life in the holidays to maths, 10 hours a day of Methods, managed to finish it in 1.5 weeks-ish, did every Q in Essentials textbook. I only did that much coz I hated vce maths, just wanted to get it out of the way and then read other books. You don't need to do that much, just take your time and finish it across the whole holidays, that way you probs only need to do like 1 hr or something each day or even less! But if you are passionate and you are really interested in mathematics then you should read beyond year 12 because it furthers your knowledge and gives you much more confidence.

What about if you didn't understand something or a concept, what'd you do then?
