2) Okay, worthy point, I hadn't considered that.

3) You can use ad at the beginning in some cases, no?

4) Do you mean simply substituting for some bigger more 'complex' words? Because if so I cannot see how it will add to the analysis at all.  I simply used what I thought was appropriate, rather than the words I could've used which would've made me look like a pretentious dick.
