Text response openers!!

So I want to start my text response with an extraneous quote.. but I don't want to copy the 2008 Look Both Ways assessment report essay.. their opener goes like this:

................ once said that, "......................................" The essence of this notion is compellingly portrayed in............... blah blah.

What other ways can I open with a quote?

Is this way good:

"............................." .............'s famous musing is clearly explicated in ............

That's basically what I do.

"‘Fact, fact, fact, everywhere in the material aspect of the town. Fact, fact, fact, everywhere in the immaterial.’ The narrator’s repetitious proclamation in Charles Dickens’ novel Hard Times is..."

"“T’is a’ a muddle”. Stephen Blackpool’s proclamation in Charles Dickens’ novel Hard Times clearly demonstrates..."

etcetc.

Since when were you allowed to do this? And what purpose would it serve, unless it was from a review or something, but then still =\ ...

Oh whoops, didn't see that you said extraneous. Would've normally said don't do that but it seems VCAA's put it in an example. I'd still advise against it though.
