The title is a failed pun (?), but I'd like to say that this year's Look Both Ways topics were absolute trash.

The end.

loved the first one. it was hard in some respects to address the second half of it though. so in my conclusion i said some rubbish about how it's over a weekend so you cannot extrapolate how much they learn about themselves, but the final montage allows some insight into how they could blah blah
the second was bleh didn't even think about it

Dont sound too bad, a lot of people decided to do LBW rather than Maestro at our school, so that must be saying something.

Bob Hillman (I think that's his name) wrote an essay on the second topic and posted it in The Age Text Talk. Thankfully, I read it :D

you seriously think the two questions were the worst ones ever?

seriously, the questions this year for LBW were two of the easiest that they have ever asked.

international studies = 30+
Engrish = 30+
Legal studies = who cares

Yeah, I thought they were both pretty straightforward.. In saying that, I don't think I did too well on it.

I felt the same way.
Last years were a lot worse then this years.
Found the first one quite easy and the second one I recognised from a SAC but chose not to do it since I
did a similar one as a practice.

Predator: you do realise that the examiners get to read only 1 piece of your writing, so wouldn't it be better to choose the one that you are familiar with?

I have to agree that they are both pretty bad. I went off topic in the first one 'cause I couldn't figure out how it linked to Meryl and Nick >.>

And the second one was too reminiscent of Year of Wonders and I decided the sentence was too short. :P

I was having more of an issue with the second half of the topic... maybe my perception is skewed but I didn't think the characters learnt much about -themselves- >.> Or maybe I'm being too pedantic.

URGH.

Wow, I thought that the topics were great!! I did the second one, and it was basically the same as the one I did in my practice exam which was rather nice for me :P Sucks if they didn't sit well with you though :(
