Firstly, I have no idea what "dogging" in your friends means. Perhaps you've misspelled the word 'dob', or something far more sinister goes on in your school that involves canines and helpless VCE students.

Secondly, you've just twisted the question around, because you're trying to evade the answer. This has nothing to do my SS or achieving better marks than someone else (ironically, this is exactly what your so-called "friend" is trying to do). This has everything to do with the fact that you have knowledge of a cheater who unfairly advantages himself over every one else who put in the hard work.

A real friend stands up for what's right. So much for your "friendship"
lol- where have u been in the past decade. dont know what 'dog' means. i think its dog as that u can accuse ppl of being a shit friend when clearly you dont know someone. Gee its easy to make such big accusations behind a computer.
hahaha! I'm not making any accusations. You just suddenly waltzed your way onto this forum to brag about the fact that your friend cheated. Hypocrisy much?
wrong person ur looking for the opposite username.
I had a feeling there was some collusion . . :)

friends are supportive of eachother whateva they choose to do. Thats why i didnt tell on him. How much would you hate it, if u were my friend and u thought i was someone u could trust but then last second i turn on you and tell examiners what your gonna do.

I would totally understand and I would expect a good friend to take a stand - and I think you summed it up really nicely why:

i know.... but it really annoys me how many people cheat. For instance, there was this one kid who always got prompt for SAC before we had to do it in class resulting him getting excellent results. Then come practise exam he gets 48% while i get 72%. For the VCAA exam he put essays in his dictionary.... felt like dobbing him in but since his a friend, i chose not to

Now, when someone's doing something wrong - especially your friend - do you just turn a blind eye? No. You set the record straight - this builds up trust more than anything.

not to be mean or anything but dude clearly u must not have many friends. Even though it annoys me that people cheat, I would never dob someone in, its just wrong. I remember my teacher once told me he was at a checkout and person in front of him stole a bucketload of goods which was hidden under trolley(they had a pram on top of trolley so you couldnt tell) Even though it was ethically wrong, he chose not to do anything because he felt he would be a rat in doing so

Please don't abuse other members. Also, in that case, that *is* the time to dob somebody in... that guy stole stuff from the supermarket affecting their turnover and potentially the job of a lower end employee... (the first to be fired when turnovers are lower in some months), so I think that was definitely the wrong thing to do there.

There's an old Arab saying that goes: "Me and my brother against my cousin, me and my cousin against the stranger". I understand that you're trying to defend your friend and his actions, and clearly you feel very strongly about this. My aim was never to upset - I would simply react differently had I been in that situation. I think that between good friends there is enough solid trust to go through something like this - and usually both end up appreciating it.

I mean today he cheats on the VCE English exam - tomorrow at Uni as well? Maybe you should calmly sit down with him and tell him how you feel about all this, to stop this from becoming a character trait. If you're uneasy about it, he is probably too.

One person sneaking essays in their dictionary wouldnt help them much anyway. Neither would one person cheating have an effect on anyone elses scores that much. if anything it would bump up your school if they did well

Except that exact prompts were given to this class yesterday, apparently.

Wow that's a bit of good luck. Anyways it would seem the better students would be more talented writers and therefore not need to cheat anyway.

Amen.

Compared to other tests that aim to gauge English ability, VCE English is comparatively successful.

he knows he cant do well on eng exams. we did 2 prac exams and he failed both of them 52% at midyear and 48% at end of year. He made up his mind that he would cheat, knowing if he did he could get A+. plus our teachers told us the LBW prompt and conflict prompt yesterday. I dont know how she knew it but it was identical
What......are you just joking or what?

Chavi your posts are ridiculous. Undermining someone's friendship because the other person has been dishonest? Not many people on earth would have friends if that was the case. I would not expect that sort of comment from anyone who has had any strong friendships

And you honestly think that it would better a friendship to dob him in? I don't know how to respond to that.

+You don't know what it means to "dog" someone?

I hate to be one to make judgments based on internet posts, but on a superficial basis they do not make you look very good.

On the other hand 7132 I reckon if you knew if he was going to cheat you should have convinced him out of it before/expressed yourself against it, I think it is unfair, but if you are under the knowledge that someone else is cheating, the blame may or may not fall back on you. Also I hope your friend gets a 20 SS.
